Any fandom; any character; they know the people they care about will be accepting, so why are they still so scared?

Any fandom; any character; people keep acting like who they're attracted to ought to be the defining feature of their life, but it isn't (gay/lesbian or bisexual/pansexual character)

Any speculative fiction fandom; any character; they never thought of themselves as [any LGBT identity] until they found themselves in a culture where they weren't just normal

Any superhero or spy fandom; any character; it's easier to be honest about what they feel when they're wearing a mask (literal or metaphorical)

Final Fantasy VI; Terra Brandord; now that the slave crown is off, it's up to her* to figure out who she is and what she wants (*pronoun for simplicity, but trans/genderqueer Terra is also welcome)

Final Fantasy VII; (gay) Rude; the Turks don't care, but that doesn't mean it's easy

Final Fantasy VII; any character; Midgar's (literally) underground GLBT scene makes them think about a few things for the first time

Final Fantasy X; any same-gender summoner/guardian pair; balancing their beliefs with their love for each other

Hi, could you explain your third prompt please? I'm not 100% sure what it means. Thanks!

The character grows up in a culture where whatever they are is not just accepted but completely unremarkable, so they never think of being, for example, bisexual, as any more intrinsic to their sense of self than being short or blond. Then they end up living somewhere else, and they have to deal with the fact that in this new culture, bisexuality is a marked identity and it makes a difference in how they interact with the world.
